I haven't updated this software in a while but I am still going to be updating it, If you have found any bugs please email me. My email is at the bottom of the page. If you have any feature requests please email me as well. The next update will be a bugfix release. Then after that I will add the ability to enter/save part numbers so when you are building an engine you can punch in part numbers then post your .ngn file on the web for people to comment on. Perhaps I will even have a service hosted here for you to host your ngn files which will display the part numbers and engine specs just like the downloaded version only in the form of a .jpg that you can link to on messageboards. Please if you have used this software contact me and tell me what you think.
EngineCalc is a simple software engine calculator to calculate four-stroke internal combustion engine parameters including required air flow, displacement, piston velocity, piston acceleration, dynamic compression ratio and various camshaft paremeters. It is NOT and never will be a replacement for desktop dyno. Dynamic compression currently takes into account, intake valve closing, rod length, boost and altitude. The camshaft calculations currently only take paremeters at lash, but it shows intake valve open time, a visual graph of the valve events in degrees of crankshaft timeing and camshaft properties such as overlap and duration. This program uses .Net, If it does not run you must download the .Net Redistributable or update through Windows Update.
I have put together a couple packages for various engines from different vehicles, I will be adding more engines to these and more vehicles at later dates.
If you have any questions or would like to create datafiles for more engines please email me. You can also reach me on the forums at Camaroz28.com under the name LiENUS.
